Smoking Apples seek to create inspiring and freeing theatre which can draw an audience in whilst still enabling them to reflect on themselves and their situation. The company explore everyday subjects which are too often overlooked and endeavour to bring the stories of characters you might find in the background to the centre of the audience's attention.

Smoking Apples devise their work using a combination of puppetry, physical and visual theatre, with live and original music. Bringing an exciting approach to their work by keeping actors and puppets as equals on stage, the company do not use the puppets to act as a separate entity but as another character in the narrative.

The company collaborate with other exciting artists in order to inspire new processes and continue to look for opportunities to expand their connections and approaches to the work. The work is specifically aimed to engage the adult imagination with the intention of giving them back their dreams.
